Experimental Validation

This track tests FluxMateria by predicting a property before it is measured or before the measurement is disclosed.

Best-fit validators

Experimental chemistry, materials, catalysis, spectroscopy, electrochemistry, and biological assay groups.

Recommended first challenge

One batch, one readout. The external group defines a small set of compounds or materials and one experimental readout. FluxMateria returns predictions before measurement or target disclosure.

Properties in scope

  • Molecular property measurements
  • Material property measurements
  • Catalyst ranking
  • Reaction yield or barrier proxies
  • Solvation or partitioning quantities
  • Spectroscopic shifts or peaks
  • Bioactivity or toxicity measurements

Recommended metrics

  • MAE or MAPE for numeric properties
  • Rank correlation for screening tasks
  • Top-k recovery
  • Pass/fail classification
  • Comparison with experimental uncertainty

Publication outcome

  • Case study
  • Joint experimental note
  • Pilot program
  • Full application paper

notes
Can FluxMateria make a useful prediction before the experiment is known, and does that prediction survive laboratory measurement?

Propose an experimental test

Experimental validation is the strongest applied evidence when predictions are frozen before the answer is known.
